Act of Offering 3

Lord Jesus Christ,
in union with that divine intention
wherewith on earth Thou didst offer to God
Thy praises through Thy Most Sacred Heart,
and dost now offer them in the Sacrament of the Eucharist
everywhere on earth even to the end of time,
I most gladly offer Thee throughout this entire day,
all my thoughts and intentions,
all my affections and desires,
all my words and deeds,
in imitation of the most sacred Heart of the blessed
and ever Virgin Mary Immaculate.

Amen.

Act of Petition

Give me Yourself, O my God,
give Yourself to me.
Behold I love You,
and if my love is too weak a thing,
grant me to love You more strongly.
I cannot measure my love to know how much
it falls short of being sufficient,
but let my soul hasten to Your embrace
and never be turned away until it is hiddeen
in the secret shelter of Your presence.
This only do I know,
that it is not good for me
when You are not with me,
when You are only outside me.
I want You in my very self.
All the plenty in the world
which is not my God is utter want.

Amen.

Act of Petition – Saint Augustine of Hippo

Give me Yourself, O my God,
give Yourself to me.
Behold I love You,
and if my love is too weak a thing,
grant me to love You more strongly.

I cannot measure my love to know how much
it falls short of being sufficient,
but let my soul hasten to Your embrace
and never be turned away until it is hiddeen
in the secret shelter of Your presence.

This only do I know,
that it is not good for me
when You are not with me,
when You are only outside me.

I want You in my very self.
All the plenty in the world
which is not my God is utter want.

Amen.

Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus #1

Jesus, Son of God and our Saviour,
have mercy on all who wound your Sacred Heart by sin,
unfaithfulness and neglect.

O loving Heart of Jesus,
broken by our ingratitude,
pierced by our sins,
yet loving us still,
accept in reparation the suffering
I now make to you of all that I am and all that I have.

Draw me ever nearer to your Sacred Heart:
there where I can learn best,
teach me, Jesus,
your blessed way to eternal life.

Amen.

Act of the Right Intention

My dear Redeemer,
it is not from custom or human respect
that I come to receive Thee;
but it is solely to love and be united to Thee,
to live by Thee and for Thee,
to be delivered from my miseries,
to clothe myself with Thy virtues,
to strengthen myself against my enemies;
it is to ask from Thee the exaltation of the Church,
Thy beloved spouse,
the conversion of sinners,
perseverance for the just,
and deliverance for the poor souls in Purgatory.
Purify more and more my intentions,
rectify them, O my Jesus,
render them conformable to Thee;
this is my sole desire.

Act of Sorrow

O God of my soul,
I am sincerely sorry
for not having hitherto loved Thee.

Instead of having loved Thee,
I have, for the sake of my pleasures,
offended and despised Thine infinite goodness:
I have turned my back upon Thee;
in a word, O my God,
I have voluntarily lost Thee.

Lord, I am sorry,
from the bottom of my heart,
for all my sins.
I hate above all things the offences,
which I have committed against Thee.

I hope Thou hast already cleansed me
from the stain of sin
in the sacrament of penance,
but I desire to become still purer in Thy sight.

Vouchsafe then to wash in Thy Blood this soul,
which Thou dost wish soon to make Thy dwelling place.

Act of Spiritual Communion 2

O Jesus! Thou hast given us in the Holy Eucharist
Thy Body and Blood to be our spiritual nourishment,
through which we may have life everlasting.
Would that I were now prepared to approach the Holy Table
to be united with Thee in the Blessed Sacrament!
I desire, with all my heart,
to receive this living Bread
which came down from Heaven.

O Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst enter under my
roof;
say but the word, and my soul shall be healed.

O Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst enter under my
roof;
say but the word, and my soul shall be healed.

O Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst enter under my
roof;
say but the word, and my soul shall be healed.

Let me taste, at least,
the sweetness of a spiritual Communion.
Come to me, Jesus, my Lord, my Master.
Come and refresh my soul.
Strengthen me, that in union with Thee
I may do perfectly the Heavenly Father’s will.
Let me never be separated from Thee by sin.

Keep me in Thy love and Thy grace.
I will not be lured away from Thee
by the deceitful honours and pleasures of the world.
I love Thee above all things and with my whole heart.
“Thou art the God of my heart,
and the God that is my portion forever.”

Increase my faith,
strengthen my hope,
kindle my love,
that I may die to self and live but for Thee.

Act of Spiritual Communion 3

At Thy feet, O my Jesus,
I prostrate myself
and I offer Thee the repentance of my contrite heart,
which is humbled in its nothingness
and in Thy holy presence.

I adore Thee in the Sacrament of Thy love,
the ineffable Eucharist.

I desire to receive Thee into the poor dwelling
that my heart offers Thee.

While waiting for the happiness of sacramental Communion,
I wish to possess Thee in spirit.

Come to me, O my Jesus, since I, for my part,
am coming to Thee!

May Thy love embrace my whole being in life and in death.
I believe in Thee,
I hope in Thee,
I love Thee.

Amen.
