Prayer to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament 7

My Lord Jesus Christ,
who for the love Thou bearest mankind,
dost remain night and day in this Sacrament,
all full of tenderness and love, expecting,
inviting and receiving all those who come to visit Thee;
I believe that Thou art present in the Sacrament of the
altar;

I adore Thee from the depths of my own nothingness
and thank Thee for all the favours Thou hast bestowed upon
me;
and especially for having given me Thyself in this
Sacrament,
and Thy most holy Mother Mary as my advocate;
and for having called me to visit Thee in this church.

I pay my homage this day to Thy most loving Heart
and this I intend to do for three intentions:
first, in thanksgiving for this great gift;
secondly, in reparation for all the insults
Thou hast received from Thine enemies in this Sacrament;
thirdly, by this visit I intend to adore Thee
in all places upon the earth,
where Thou art least adored and most neglected in Thy
Sacrament.

My Jesus, l love Thee with my whole heart.
I repent of having in the past so many times
displeased Thine infinite goodness.
I purpose with the help of Thy grace
never more to offend Thee in the future;
and at this moment, wretched as I am,
I consecrate myself wholly to Thee.
I give to Thee and utterly renounce my entire will,
all my affections,
all my desires,
and all that I possess.

From this day forth do with me
and with all that is mine
whatever is pleasing in Thy sight.
I ask and desire only Thy holy love,
final perseverance and the perfect fulfilment of Thy will.
I commend to Thee the souls in purgatory,
especially those who were most devoted
to this Blessed Sacrament and to Blessed Mary;
I commend to Thee in like manner all poor sinners.

Finally, my dear Saviour,
I unite all my affections with those of Thy most loving
Heart,
and thus united I offer them to Thine eternal Father,
and I pray Him in Thy name graciously to accept
and answer them for love of Thee.

Amen.

Prayer to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament 8

O my God,
I firmly believe that Thou art really and corporally
present
in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar.

I adore Thee here present from the very depths of my
heart,
and I worship Thy sacred presence with all possible
humility.

O my soul, what joy to have Jesus Christ always with us,
and to be able to speak to Him,
heart to heart, with all confidence.

Grant, O Lord, that I,
having adored Thy Divine Majesty here on earth
in this wonderful Sacrament,
may be able to adore It eternally in heaven.

Amen.

Prayer to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament 9

O most lovely, most sweet,
and dearest Jesus!
Life, hope, treasure,
and only love of my soul!

Oh, how much has it not cost Thee to remain with us in
this Sacrament.

It was necessary for Thee to die
in order to remain afterwards upon our altars;
and how many injuries hast Thou not been made to suffer,
in consequence of this presence among us!

But Thy love, and Thy desire to be loved by us,
have surmounted all.

Come then, Lord,
come and occupy my heart,
and afterwards close the gate to it for ever,
so that no creature may ever enter again
to take away a part of this love which belongs entirely to
Thee,
and which I am unwilling to give to any other.

Do Thou alone, my dear Redeemer, reign over me!
Do Thou alone possess me entirely,
and if at any time I should not obey Thee perfectly,
punish me severely,
that for the future I may be more careful to please Thee,
according to Thy desire.

Let me no more desire nor seek
for any other pleasure than to please Thee,
to visit Thee often at Thine altar,
to converse with Thee,
and to receive Thee in Holy Communion.
Let them look for other goods who will!

For me, I love only,
I desire only the treasure of Thy love.

The only favour I ask at the foot of this altar is,
that I may forget myself altogether,
to remember only Thy goodness.

Blessed Seraphs, I do not envy you your glory!

But by the love which you bear to your God and mine,
oh, teach me what I must do to love Him
and please Him like you!

O my Lord and King,
hidden in this Sacrament,
since Thou dost invite me to converse with Thee,
I will open my heart with confidence, and speak.

O my Jesus, ardent Lover of souls,
I know to well the injustice and ingratitude of men
towards Thee.

Thou lovest them, and they do not love Thee;
Thou dost confer benefits on them,
and they return Thee with insults;
Thou wouldst have them hear Thy voice,
and they will not listen;
Thou dost offer them graces,
and they refuse them.

Ah! my Jesus, I, too,
was once among the number of these ungrateful souls.
O my God, it is only too true.

But I desire to amend,
and I wish to compensate for the injuries I have done Thee,
by doing all I can to please Thee for the remainder of my
life.

Tell me, O Lord, what Thou dost require of me.
I will do it without the least reserve.
Make known to me Thy will by the way of holy obedience,
and I hope to accomplish it.

My God, I firmly promise never to leave undone any act
which I know to be agreeable to Thee,
although the performance of it should cost me the loss of
all things,
of relations, friends, character, health,
and even life itself.

Let me loose all,
if only I may do Thy will!

Happy loss, when all is sacrificed to content Thy heart,
O God of my soul!

I love Thee, O Sovereign Good,
above all goods worthy of my love,
and in loving Thee I unite my feeble heart
with the hearts of all the Seraphim.

I unite it with the Heart of Mary
and with the Heart of Jesus.

I love Thee with my whole soul;
I wish to love Thee alone,
now and for ever.

Amen.

A Prayer to Jesus Christ for Immigrants

O Jesus, who in the very first days of Thine earthly life wast compelled, together with Mary, Thy loving Mother, and Saint Joseph, to leave Thy native land and to endure in Egypt the misery and discomforts of poor emigrants, turn Thine eyes upon our brethren, who, far away from their dear country and from all that is dear to them, are not infrequently constrained to struggle with the difficulties of a new life, and who are likewise often exposed to grave dangers and snares for their immortal souls.

Be Thou their guide in their uncertain journey, their help in trouble, their comfort in sorrow; keep them safe in their faith, holy in their lives, and faithful to their children, their wives, and their parents; grant, O Lord, that we may be able to embrace them affectionately once more in their native land, and hereafter to live inseparably united to them at the foot of Thy throne in our heavenly country.

Amen.

A Jesus Crucificado

(Salmo 21, 17-18)

Prayer to Jesus Crucified

Here I am, good and gentle Jesus, kneeling before you. With great fervor I pray and ask you to instill in me genuine convictions of faith, hope and love, with true sorrow for my sins and a firm resolve to amend them. While I contemplate your five wounds with great love and compassion, I remember the words which the prophet David long ago put on your lips: “They have pierced my hands and my feet, I can count all my bones.”

(Psalm 22/17-18)
