Prayer to the Shoulder Wound of Our Lord Jesus

O lovable Jesus, gentle Lamb of God, in spite of the fact that I am a sinful, wretched creature, I adore You and worship the Wound caused by the heavy weight of Your Cross, that burst open Your skin, uncovered the bones of Your Sacred Shoulder and on which Your sorrowing Mother Mary so much sympathized with. I as well, dear Jesus, also sympathize with You, and from the bottom of my heart, I glorify You, and thank You for this painful wound to Your shoulder on which You carried your Cross for my slavaiton. Ah! for all the sufferings You deeply expeirenced that increased the enormous weight of Your Cross, I humbly request, have mercy on me, a poor sinful creature, forgive my sins and conduct me to heaven by the way of the Cross.
Say the “Hail Mary” 3 times.

Holy Mother, imprint in my heart the wounds of the Crucified Jesus Christ.

O Sweet Jesus, please do not be my Judge, be my Saviour.
(Saint Bernard asked the Divine Redeemer what was the most painful wound that he suffered and the most unknown by mankind.

Jesus responded:

“I had a very deep wound on my shoulder on which I carried my heavy cross. This would was the most painful of all. Most men are unacquainted with it. Honour this wound and I will do everything you ask for.”)

Prayer for the Sick 1

Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed.

Amen.

Prayer for the Sick 2

Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us.

Amen.

A Prayer for a Sick Child

St. Gerard, who, like the Saviour, loved children so tenderly and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death, listen to us who are pleading for our sick child. We thank God for the great gift of our son/daughter and ask Him to restore our child to health if such be His holy will. This favour, we beg of you through your love for all children and mothers.

Amen.

Prayer for the Sick Near Death

Almighty and Everlasting God, preserver of souls, who dost correct those whom Thou dost love, and for their betterment dost tenderly chastise those whom Thou dost receive, we call upon Thee, O Lord, to grant Thy healing, that the soul of Thy servant, at the hour of its departure from the body, may by the hands of Thy holy Angels be presented without spot unto Thee.

Amen.

Prayer for a Sick Person 2

O Good St. Anne you who cured the sick and laid a healing hand upon the lame, the blind, and the crippled, look with compassion upon me in my trouble.

If it is not God’s Will to cure me, give me strength to bear my burden and offer it up to Him, who suffered so much for me.

Give me grace to offer my sufferings in union with Jesus’, in reparation for my sins and those of others, for the needs of this troubled world, and for the release of the souls in purgatory.

O Good St. Anne, compassionate mother, pray for your weary child.

Amen.
