Prayer after Holy Communion 3

Dear Lord,
help me to remove from my mind every thought
or opinion which You would not sanction,
every feeling form my heart which You would not approve.

Grant that I may spend the hours of the day
gladly working with You according to Your will.

Help me just for today and be with me in it.
In the long hours of work,
that I may not grow weary or slack in serving You.

In conversations,
that they may not be to me occasions of uncharitableness.
In the day’s worries and disappointments,
that I may be patient with myself and with those around me.

In moments of fatigue and illness,
that I may be mindful of others rather than of myself.

In temptations, that I may be generous and loyal,
so that when the day is over I may lay it at Your feet,
with its successes which are all Yours,
and its failures which are all my own,
and feel that life is real and peaceful,
and blessed when spent with You as the Guest of my soul.

Amen.

Prayer After Holy Communion 5

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water flowing from the side of Christ, purify me. Passion of Christ, comfort me. O good Jesus, hear me. Hide me within Thy wounds. Never permit me to be separated from Thee. From the malignant enemy defend me. At the hour of my death call me, And cause me to come to Thee, That with the Saints and the Angels, I may praise Thee For everlasting ages.

Amen.

Prayer After Holy Communion 6

I give Thee thanks, O holy Lord, Father Almighty, Eternal God, Who nourish me, a sinner, and Thine unworthy servant, with the precious Body and Blood of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. I had no merits, no deserts which I could put forward in my own behalf. But let not this holy Communion, I pray Thee, turn to my judgment and condemnation: let it rather obtain for me pardon and salvation. Let it cleanse me from all my vices; let it destroy all my concupiscenses and evil desires. Let it increase my charity, my patience, my humility, my obedience. Let it defend me from all my enemies, visible and invisible. Let it appease all the evil propensities of my mind and body; and guide me so straight to Thee, my true and only God, that I may look forward to Thee as the happy goal of all my endeavours. Thus lead me, I pray Thee, to that unspeakable festival, when Thou, and Thy Son, and the Holy Ghost, will be to me and all the Saints, the complete fulness, the end of hope, the everlasting joy, and the never-changing happiness: through the same Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

The Holy Cross of God

The holy cross of God, as long and as broad
As the one upon which God suffered
His blessed, bitter tortures, bless me today and forever.

The three holy nails which were driven through
The holy hands and feet of Jesus Christ
Shall bless me today and forever.

The bitter crown of thorns which was forced upon
The holy head of Christ, shall bless me today and forever.

The spear by which the holy side of Jesus was opened,
Shall bless me today and forever.

The rosy blood protect me from all my enemies,
And from everything which night be injurious to my body
Or soul, or my worldly goods.

Bless me, oh ye five holy wounds, in order that all my enemies
May be driven away and bound,

While God has encompassed all Christendom.
In this shall assist me God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Amen.

Thus must I, [name], be blessed as well and as valid
As the cup and the wine, and the true, living bread which
Jesus gave his disciples on the evening of Maunday Thursday.

All those that hate you must be silent before me;
Their hearts are dead in regard to me; and their tongues are
Mute, so that they are not at all able to inflict the least injury
Upon me, or my house, or my premises:
And likewise, all those who intend attacking and wounding me
With their arms and weapons shall be defenseless,
Weak and conquered before me.

In this shall assist me the holy power of God, which can make all arms or weapons of no avail. All this in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Amen.

The Holy Face 1

O Jesus, who in Thy bitter Passion didst become “the most abject of men, a man of sorrows”, I venerate Thy Sacred Face whereon there once did shine the beauty and sweetness of the Godhead; but now it has become for me as if it were the face of a leper! Nevertheless, under those disfigured features, I recognize Thy infinite Love and I am consumed with the desire to love Thee and make Thee loved by all men. The tears which well up abundantly in Thy sacred eyes appear to me as so many precious pearls that I love to gather up, in order to purchase the souls of poor sinners by means of their infinite value. O Jesus, whose adorable Face ravishes my heart, I implore Thee to fix deep within me Thy Divine image and to set me on fire with Thy Love, that I may be found worthy to come to the contemplation of Thy glorious Face in Heaven.

Amen.

The Holy Face 2

O Blessed Face of my kind Saviour, by the tender love and piercing sorrow of Our Lady as she beheld You in Your cruel Passion, grant us to share in this intense sorrow and love so as to fulfill the holy will of God to the utmost of our ability.

Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Face of Jesus

Holy Face of Jesus, Be my joy.
Holy Face of Jesus, Be my strength.
Holy Face of Jesus, Be my health.
Holy Face of Jesus, Be my courage.
Holy Face of Jesus, Be my wisdom.
Holy Face of Jesus, Image of the Father, Provide for me.
Holy Face of Jesus, Mirror of Thy Priestly Heart, Be my zeal.
Holy Face of Jesus, Gift of the Spirit, Show me Thy love.
Holy Face of Jesus, saddened by sorrow, Grant my requests through Thy merits.

Amen.
