The Hearken O Lord (Attende Domine) Prayer

Hearken, O Lord,
and have mercy,
for we have sinned against Thee.

Crying, we raise our eyes to Thee, Sovereign King,
Redeemer of all.
Listen, Christ, to the pleas of the supplicant sinners.

Hearken, O Lord,
and have mercy,
for we have sinned against Thee.

Thou art at the Right Hand of God the Father,
the Keystone,
the Way of salvation and Gate of Heaven,
cleanse the stains of our sins.

Hearken, O Lord,
and have mercy,
for we have sinned against Thee.

O God, we beseech Thy majesty to hear our groans;
to forgive our sins.

Hearken, O Lord,
and have mercy,
for we have sinned against Thee.

We confess to Thee our consented sins;
we declare our hidden sins with contrite heart;
in Thy mercy, O Redeemer, forgive them.

Hearken, O Lord,
and have mercy,
for we have sinned against Thee.

Thou wert captured, being innocent;
brought about without resistance,
condemned by impious men with false witnesses.
O Christ keep safe those whom Thou hast redeemed.

Hearken, O Lord,
and have mercy,
for we have sinned against Thee.

Prayer to the Heart of Jesus

O Jesus, we know you are gentle and that you gave your Heart for us. It was crowned with thorns through our sins. We know that even today you are praying for us so that we will not be lost. Jesus, remember us when we fall into sin.

Through your most Sacred Heart, make us all love one another. Cause hatred to disappear among men. Show us your love. We all love you and we want you to protect us with your Heart of the Good Shepherd. Come into each heart, Jesus! Knock at the door of our hearts. Be patient and persistent with us. We are still closed up in ourselves because we have not understood your will. Knock continuously, O Jesus, make our hearts open to you, at least in remembering the Passion you have suffered for us.

Amen.

A Prayer to the Heart of Mary

O Heart of Mary, Mother of God, and our Mother, most amiable Heart, object of the complacency of the most adorable Trinity, and worthy of all the veneration and affection of Angels and men; Heart most conformable to that of Jesus, of which Thou art the most perfect likeness; Heart full of goodness and compassion for our miseries, vouchsafe to melt our frozen hearts, and grant that they may be entirely turned towards the Heart of our Divine Saviour. Infuse into them the love of thy virtues; inflame them with that sacred fire with which thou continually burnest. Take under thy protection the Holy Catholic Church; defend it, and be always its consolation, its asylum and its invincible fortress against every assault of its enemies. Be thou our way to come to Jesus, and the channel through which we receive all graces necessary for our salvation. Be thou our help in our wants, our relief under afflictions, our comfort in temptations, our refuge in persecutions, and our support in all dangers; but especially in our last conflict at the time of death, when all the powers of hell will use their utmost endeavours to seize our souls in that awful moment, in that terrible crisis, on which depends our eternal lot. Do thou, at that time, O most pious Virgin, make us experience the sweetness of thy maternal Heart, and the efficacy of thine influence with Jesus, thine all-powerful Son, by opening unto us, a secure refuge in the source itself of mercy, a secure refuge, that we may enjoy the happiness of blessing Him in Heaven for all eternity.

Amen.

May the Divine Heart of Jesus, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, be known, praised, blessed, loved, served, and glorified for ever, by all His creatures!

Amen.

Heart Prayer

Saint Michael, your heart was filled with great charity for God and man. Our Lord returned your love and allowed you to exchange mystically your heart with His. Pray for all whose hearts are afflicted with illness, fear, or loneliness. Teach us to be resigned to God’s will in all the trials and sicknesses. Help us to live as you lived – to do good now and for eternity.

Amen

The Heart’s Prayer

As down in the sunless retreats of the ocean Sweet flowers are springing no mortal can see, So deep in my soul the still prayer of devotion, Unheard by the world, rises silent to Thee. As still to the star of its worship, though clouded, The needle points faithfully o’er the dim sea, So dark when I roam in this wintry world shrouded, The hope of my spirit turns trembling to Thee.

A Prayer for Heavenly Treasures

King Jesus, rich in Heavenly treasures, You Who chose to embrace earthly poverty, Now look at Your eternal glory! Riches are indeed the root of all evil, Poverty being the road to eternal life. Teach me to embrace a life of poverty, To endure with the bare necessities. If an over-abundance arrives my way, Send Your needy children to gather it. Enrich my soul with Heavenly treasures, Withdrawing its desires for earthly goods. I trust in Your spiritual providence!

Help Against Spiritual Enemies

Glorious St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly hosts, who standest always ready to give assistance to the people of God; who didst fight with the dragon, the old serpent, and didst cast him out of heaven, and now valiantly defendest the Church of God that the gates of hell may never prevail against her, I earnestly entreat thee to assist me also, in the painful and dangerous conflict which I have to sustain against the same formidible foe. Be with me, O mighty Prince! that I may courageously fight and wholly vanquish that proud spirit, whom thou hast by the Divine Power, so gloriously overthrown, and whom our powerful King, Jesus Christ, has, in our nature, so completely overcome; to the end that having triumphed over the enemy of my salvation, I may with thee and the holy angels, praise the clemency of God who, having refused mercy to the rebellious angels after their fall, has granted repentance and forgiveness to fallen man.

Amen.

Prayer for the Help of the Holy Spirit

O God, send forth your Holy Spirit into my heart that I may perceive, into my mind that I may remember, and into my soul that I may meditate. Inspire me to speak with piety, holiness, tenderness and mercy. Teach, guide and direct my thoughts and senses from beginning to end. May your grace ever help and correct me, and may I be strengthened now with wisdom from on high, for the sake of your infinite mercy. Amen. Saint Anthony of Padua

Help me to Know

You gift me with all the good gifts that make me the person you created me to be. Help me to know and find your will and to trust that you will help me to understand the path you call me to journey in life. Where there is doubt give me courage. Give me a heart open to your quiet voice so I can hear your call to me. Help me to know your faithfulness and help me to be faithful to that which you call me to.

Amen.
