Please Heal My Wounded Heart

Dear God, please help me heal From grief, loss and the pain of love gone wrong. Let me leave deep heartache it in my past. And be whole and happy again. In my fear of never finding true love.

I have been needy and overly-anxious, Desperate and too willing to settle. Please calm the need in me that leads to unwise choices. Fill the emptiness in my heart that makes me crave unhealthy love. Restore my faith in love and relationships And grant me the ability to love myself fully. And to feel lovable and wanted from within. Let the healing process must begin inside my heart.

Plea to the Everlasting Father, for the Preborn

Lord God, our Eternal Father, we come to Thy Throne full of awe and reverence at Thy saving power. Through our Saviour Jesus Christ, we beg Thee to help us stop the widespread slaughter of unborn babies in our land. May our love for our innocent brothers and sisters closely resemble the love that exists in the Holy Family. Help us provide all human life with protection under our civil laws. We know that through the intercession of our Mother Mary, chosen Spouse of the Holy Spirit, our request will be granted.

Amen.

Plenary Indulgence at the Hour of Death

My Lord God, even now resignedly and willingly, I accept at Thy hand, with all its anxieties, pains, and sufferings, whatever kind of death it shall please Thee to be mine.

Saint Polycarp Prayers

Saint Polycarp, bishop of Smyrna and a disciple of the apostles, was burned at the stake about the year 155. His feast day is February 23. This is the prayer he prayed before he died:

Lord, almighty God, Father of your beloved and blessed Son Jesus Christ, through whom we have come to the knowledge of yourself, God of angels, of powers, of all creation, of all the race of saints who live in your sight, I bless you for judging me worthy of this day, this hour, so that in the company of the martyrs I may share the cup of Christ, your annointed one, and so rise again to eternal life in soul and body, immortal through the power of the Holy Spirit. May I be received among the martyrs in your presence today as a rich and pleasing sacrifice. God of truth, stranger to falsehood, you have prepared this and revealed it to me and now you have fulfilled your promise.

I praise you for all things, I bless you, I glorify you through the eternal priest of heaven, Jesus Christ, your beloved Son. Through him be glory to you, together with him and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Here is a prayer the Church prays concerning Saint Polycarp:

God of all creation,
you gave your bishop Polycarp the privilege of being counted among the saints who gave their lives in faithful witness to the gospel.

May his prayers give us the courage to share with him the cup of suffering and to rise to eternal glory. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Prayer for the Poor

Who is Jesus to me? Jesus is the Word made Flesh. Jesus is the Bread of Life. Jesus is the Victim offered for our sins on the Cross. Jesus is the Sacrifice at Holy Mass for the sins of the world and mine. Jesus is the Word – to be spoken. Jesus is the Truth – to be told. Jesus is the Way – to be walked. Jesus is the Light – to be lit. Jesus is the Life – to be loved. Jesus is the Joy – to be shared. Jesus is the Sacrifice – to be given. Jesus is the Bread of Life – to be eaten. Jesus is the Hungry – to be fed. Jesus is the Thirsty – to be satiated. Jesus is the Naked – to be clothed. Jesus is the Homeless – to be taken in. Jesus is the Sick – to be healed. Jesus is the Lonely – to be loved. Jesus is the Unwanted – to be wanted. Jesus is the Leper – to wash his wounds. Jesus is the Beggar – to give him a smile. Jesus is the Drunkard – to listen to him. Jesus is the Little One – to embrace him. Jesus is the Dumb – to speak to him. Jesus is the Crippled – to walk with him. Jesus is the Drug Addict – to befriend him. Jesus is the Prostitute – to remove from danger and befriend her. Jesus is the Prisoner – to be visited. Jesus is the Old – to be served.
To me Jesus is my God, Jesus is my Spouse, Jesus is my Life, Jesus is my only Love, Jesus is my All in All, Jesus is my Everything.

Amen.

Prayer for the Pope 1

Most holy Virgin and Mother, whose soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow in the Passion of thy Divine Son, and Who in His glorious Resurrection wast filled with never-ending joy at His triumph; obtain for us who call upon thee, so to be partakers in the adversities of Holy Church and the sorrows of the Sovereign Pontiff, as to be found worthy to rejoice with them in the consolations for which we pray, in the charity and peace of the same Christ our Lord.

Amen

Prayer for the Pope 2

O Lord, we are the millions of believers, humbly kneeling at Thy feet and begging Thee to preserve, defend and save the Sovereign Pontiff for many years. He is the Father of the great fellowship of souls and our Father as well. On this day, as on every other day, he is praying for us also, and is offering unto Thee with holy fervour the sacred Victim of love and peace.

Wherefore, O Lord, turn Thyself toward us with eyes of pity; for we are now, as it were, forgetful of ourselves, and are praying above all for him. Do Thou unite our prayers with his and receive them into the bosom of Thine infinite mercy, as a sweet savor of active and fruitful charity, whereby the children are united in the Church to their Father. All that he asks of Thee this day, we too ask it of Thee in union with him.

whether he weeps or rejoices, whether he hopes or offers himself as a victim of charity for his people, we desire to be united with him; nay more, we desire that the cry of our hearts should be made one with his. Of Thy great mercy grant, O Lord, that not one of us may be far from his mind and his heart in the hour that he prays and offers unto Thee the Sacrifice of Thy blessed Son. At the moment when our venerable High Priest, holding in His hands the very Body of Jesus Christ, shall say to the people over the Chalice of benediction these words: “The peace of the Lord be with you always,” grant, O Lord, that Thy sweet peace may come down upon our hearts and upon all the nations with new and manifest power.

Amen

Prayer for the Pope 3

God our Father, Shepherd and Guide, look with love on Pope Benedict XVI Your servant, the pastor of Your Church.

May his word and example inspire and guide the Church, and may he, and all those entrusted to his care, come to the joy of everlasting life.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen
