Prayers (A-Z)

Our mother of sorrows, with strength from above you stood by the cross, sharing in the sufferings of Jesus, and with tender care you bore Him in your arms, mourning and weeping.

We praise you for your faith, which accepted the life God planned for you. We praise you for your hope, which trusted that God would do great things in you. We praise you for your love in bearing with Jesus the sorrows of His passion.

Holy Mary, may we follow your example, and stand by all your children who need comfort and love.

Mother of God, stand by us in our trials and care for us in our many needs. Pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

Amen!

Good St. Gerard, powerful intercessor before the throne of God, wonder-worker of our day, I call upon you and seek your aid. You know that our marriage has not as yet been blessed with a child and how much my husband and I desire this gift. Please present our fervent pleas to the Creator of life from whom all parenthood proceeds and beseech Him to bless us with a child whom we may raise as His child and heir of heaven.

Amen.

I humbly salute you, O you faithful, 
heavenly Friends of my children! 
I give you heartfelt thanks 
for all the love and goodness you show them. 
At some future day I shall, 
with thanks more worthy than I can now give, 
repay your care for them, 
and before the whole heavenly court 
acknowledge their indebtedness to your guidance and 
protection. 
Continue to watch over them. 
Provide for all their needs of body and soul. 
Pray, likewise, for me, 
for my husband, 
and my whole family, 
that we may all one day rejoice in your blessed company.

O, dear Father, I ask for you to watch over me as I ride from point a to b. Help all other motorists to see me clearly and help me to stay out of their way. Bring me back to my family in one-piece dear God, these things I pray.

Amen.

Grant me O Lord a steady hand and watchful eye.
That no one shall be hurt as I pass by.
Thou gavest life, I pray no act of mine
May take away or mar that gift of Thine.
Shelter those, dear Lord, who bear me company,
From the evils of fire and all calamity.
Teach me to use my car for others need;
Nor miss through love of undue speed
The beauty of the world; that thus I may
With joy and courtesy go on my way.
St. Christopher, holy patron of travellers,
Protect me and lead me safely to my destiny.

My children, know you not that the Earth
And all that dwells therein
Is but a reflection of the
Kingdom of the Heavenly Father?
And as you are suckled and comforted
By your mother when a child,
But you go to join your father in the fields
When you grow up,
So do the Angels of the Earthly Mother
Guide your steps
Toward him who is your Father,
And all his holy Angels,
That you may know your true home
And become true Sons of God.
While we are children,
We will see the rays of the sun,
But not the Power which created it;
While we are children,
We will hear the sounds of the flowing brook,
But not the Love which created it;
While we are children,
We will see the stars,
But not the hand which scatters them
Through the sky,
As the farmer scatters the seed.
Only through the Communions
With the Angels of the Heavenly Father,
Will we learn to see the unseen,
To hear that which cannot be heard,
And to speak the unspoken word.
All Things Exist By Thee
Thou hast made known unto me
Thy deep, mysterious things.
All things exist by Thee
and there is none beside Thee.
By Thy Law
Thou hast directed my heart
that I set my steps straight forward
upon right paths
and walk where Thy presence is.

O My God, 
I place my trust and confidence in You,
who will reward the good and punish the wicked. 
I believe in You and accept everything 
You have taught and revealed.

I believe that in one God 
there are three Divine Persons –
God the Father, 
God the Son 
and God the Holy Spirit.

I believe that God the Son became Man 
without ceasing to be God. 
He is Jesus Christ, my lord and my Saviour, 
the Redeemer of the human race. 
He died on the Cross for my salvation 
and eternal happiness. 

O my God, give me a strong faith.
Help me to believe with lively faith.

O my God, all-good and all-merciful, 
I sincerely hope to be saved. 
Help me to do all that is necessary 
to gain eternal salvation. 

I have committed many sins in my life, 
but now I turn away from them. 
I am sorry, truly sorry for all of them,
because I have offended You, my God, 
Who are all-good, all-perfect,
all-holy and all-merciful.

I love you, O my God, with all my heart.
Please forgive me for having offended You.

I promise that, with Your help, 
I will never offend You again.

My God, have mercy on me.

Heavenly Father, my child is your greatest gift,
and my biggest challenge! 
I know my child is truly distressed,
and yet I am at my wit’s end to find a peaceful resolution. 
I feel helpless and frustrated.
I ask myself, What would my Heavenly Father
do in His infinite wisdom and beneficence?
Lord, come into my heart and mind,
and share Your loving wisdom with me!
Help my child to heal his pain, and help me
to become as loving and wise a parent, as You are for us
Your children. Thank You Lord, for
hearing me and coming to my aid! Bring your loving Peace to me and my child today.

Angel of God’s light, whom God sends as a companion for me on earth, protect me from the snares of the devil, and help me to walk always as a child of God, my Creator.
Angel of God’s truth, whose perfect knowledge serves what is true, protect me from deceits and temptations. Help me to know the truth, and always to live the truth. 

Angel of God’s love, who praises Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, who sacrificed His life for love of us, sustain me as I learn the ways of Divine love, of sacrificial generosity, of meekness and lowliness of heart. 
Thank You, my heavenly friend, for your watch full care. At the moment of my death, bring me to heaven, where the one true God, Who is light, Truth and Love, lives and reigns forever and ever.

Lord, You are the Source of all Life, all Truth, and all Beauty, I pray to You today, with all my heart, for my intelligence, this light in me, this plant which demands years and years of care, this thing in me, mysterious and moving, this activity which sometimes bounds up, sometimes slows down, which sometimes lifts me up with enthusiasm and sometimes exasperates me, I pray for this thing which runs after ideas, symbols and numbers, this thing which all of a sudden has penetrated inside the thought of another and melds with it like the fusion of two lights a fusion which bring about warmth and light. I pray to You for my mind as You are the Supreme Intelligence which penetrates, illuminates, and embraces all our intelligences. Lord, help make my intelligence amenable to all truths, able to understand the thoughts of others; give to me the wisdom to know the meaning and purpose of my life and learning, so that my knowledge, understanding, and skills may help in some little ways to make this world a better place, for Your greater glory.
