OUT OF THE DEPTHS – Also known as “De Profundis” (Psalm 130)

Out of the depths I call to you, Lord. O Lord, listen to my cry. Be attentive to the sound of my pleading.

If you, Lord, note all our offences, who then, O Lord, could stand? But with you is forgiveness, For which we revere you.

I wait for the Lord, my soul awaits; I hope in his word. My soul waits for the Lord, more than watchmen wait for dawn, more than watchmen awaiting the dawn.

Israel, hope in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy and generous redemption. It is he who redeems Israel from all their sins

Prayer to Overcome Evil Passions and to Become a Saint

Dear Jesus, in the Sacrament of the Altar,
be forever thanked and praised.
Love, worthy of all celestial and terrestrial love!
Who, out of infinite love for me,
ungrateful sinner,
didst assume our human nature,
didst shed Thy most Precious Blood in the cruel scourging,
and didst expire on a shameful Cross
for our eternal welfare!
Now illumined with lively faith,
with the outpouring of my whole soul
and the fervor of my heart,
I humbly beseech Thee,
through the infinite merits of Thy painful sufferings,
give me strength and courage
to destroy every evil passion which sways my heart,
to bless Thee by the exact fulfillment of my duties,
supremely to hate all sin,
and thus to become a Saint.

Prayer for Overcoming Life’s Hardships

O Lord, we call upon You in our time of sorrow,
That You give us the strength and will to bear our heavy
burdens, until we can again feel the warmth and love of
Your divine compassion. Be mindful of us and have mercy
on us while we struggle to comprehend life’s hardships.

Keep us ever in Your watch, til we can walk again with
light hearts and renewed spirits.
