God Alone Suffices

I offer you, Lord, my thoughts: to be fixed on you; my words: to have you for their theme; my actions: to reflect my love for you; my sufferings: to be endured for your greater glory.

I want to do what you ask of me: in the way you ask, for as long as you ask, because you ask it. I pray, Lord, that you enlighten my mind, inflame my will, purify my heart, and sanctify my soul (Pope Clement XI). O Mary, Mother of God and my Mother, pray also to Jesus for me (St. Alphonsus).

Prayer to God the Father 1

Almighty God, my Eternal Father,
from the fullness of my soul I adore You.

I am deeply grateful that You have made me
in Your image and likeness,
and that You ever hold me in Your loving embrace.
Direct me to love You with all my heart,
with all my soul,
and with my whole mind.

Direct me to love all Your children as I love myself.
O, my Father, my soul longs to be united to You,
and to rest in You forever.

Have the Holy Spirit touch my soul
so that I may love You as He does,
and as Your Beloved Son Jesus does.

Amen.

Prayer to God the Father 2

O My God, Who have created me and redeemed me by Your beloved Son, I thank You for it with all my heart.

O my God, Who bestowed on me the Christian faith and adopted me as Your child on the day of my baptism, I thank You for it with all my heart.

O my God, who have surrounded me with so many means of salvation, I thank You for it with all my heart.

O my God, who have given me a wonderful angel to protect me, I thank You for it with all my heart.

O my God, who have given me a sound intelligence, a judgment, a loving heart, I thank You for it with all my heart.

O my God, who have given me eyes that see, ears that hear, a tongue that speaks, and limbs that move, I thank You for it with all my heart.

O my God, who have created the beautiful sun to give me light, the waters to refresh me, and the flowers to delight me with their fragrance, I thank You for it with all my heart.

O my God, who make fruits and crops to ripen, and increase the animals to nourish and clothe us, I thank You for it with all my heart.

For all the benefits that You will give me up to my death, I thank You for it with all my heart.

For the grace of final perseverance, which I hope from Your mercy through the merits of Jesus Christ, I thank You for it with all my heart.

For the infinite happiness, with which You will crown me in heaven as You have commanded me to hope, I thank You for it with all my heart.

Prayer to God the Father 3

O Father of mercies, from whom cometh all that is good, I offer my humble petitions unto Thee through the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy dearly beloved Son, our Lord and Redeemer, in whom Thou art always well pleased and who loves Thee so much; vouchsafe to grant me the grace of a lively faith, a firm hope and an ardent charity toward Thee and toward my neighbour. Grant me also the grace to be truly penitent for all my sins together with a firm purpose of never offending Thee again; that so I may be enabled to live always according to Thy divine good-pleasure, to do Thy most holy will in all things with a generous and willing heart, and to persevere in Thy love even to the end of my life.

Amen

Prayer to God the Father 4

Eternal Father, I offer unto Thee the infinite satisfaction which Jesus rendered to Thy justice on behalf of sinners upon the tree of the Cross; and I pray that Thou wouldst make the merits of His Precious Blood available to all guilty souls to whom sin has brought death; may they rise again to the life of grace and glorify Thee for ever.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the fervent devotion of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in satisfaction for the lukewarmness and cowardice of Thy chosen people, imploring Thee by the burning love which made Him suffer death, that it may please Thee to rekindle their hearts now so lukewarm in Thy service, and to set them on fire with Thy love, that they may love Thee for ever.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the submission of Jesus to Thy will, and I ask of Thee, through His merits, the fullness of all grace and the accomplishment of all Thy holy will. Blessed be God!
